Kiev inspects shelters and exercises in case of “Russian bombing”

 

Andrei Krichenko, deputy head of the Kyiv State Department of Municipal Security, said that the city authorities are preparing to conduct demonstration work with residents, exercises with sirens and training sessions with police and metro employees in case the capital is bombed by Russian forces.

“Starting next week, we will start an information campaign so that people are not intimidated when they hear it,” Krishenko said. “In two weeks, we will actually turn on sirens and conduct exercises so that people understand without panicking what to do.”

He stressed that the authorities have not yet checked all the shelters in Kiev, but there are already questions about some things.

The situation on the border between Russia and Ukraine remains difficult. According to her, Russia periodically resorts to the practice of transferring and stockpiling military units in order to maintain tension in the region and put pressure on neighboring countries.
