Launch of the “Proton-M” rocket with two satellites from Baikonur

 

After the launch was delayed several times, the “Proton-M” rocket with two Baikonur satellites was launched.

The launch of the rocket was postponed once from December 6 to December 12 due to the need to improve the upper stage, and then to December 13. The launch of satellites on the Proton-M launch vehicle was supposed to be in 2020, but production was delayed due to the pandemic. At the end of last year, the launch was postponed to December 2021. It was also announced that the launch will be delayed in September.

The satellites are expected to be placed in a geostationary orbit. It is a circular orbit with a height of 36 thousand km. Express-AMU3 and Express-AMU7 will provide high-quality communications and broadcast television and radio services.
