Afghani mother sells one twin to save the other

 

An Afghan woman has sold her four-month-old twins to save another, according to the New York Post.

According to media reports, the woman’s husband and eldest son were employed, but when the government changed in Afghanistan, they lost their income. In addition, due to a severe drought, the family had to leave their farm and move to another city.

Four months ago, the couple gave birth to twins, but the mother and father realized that they were not going to feed the children. As a result, the woman decided to sell one of the children for $ 104 to a childless couple.

“I struggled with the fact that I had to separate them,” the woman commented. “It was a very difficult decision.”

The couple believed that their son would be better in the new family. They believe: that the boy will have everything he needs so that he does not live in poverty.
