American scientists create a device to diagnose the Corona virus

Scientists at Brown University in the US have created a device capable of detecting the RNA of the coronavirus and efficiently diagnosing COVID-19.
This was reported in the scientific journal The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics.

A machine called a Bubbler converts RNA into DNA from viral particles exhaled by infected patients. The device also provides information on the viral load and virus strain.

70 coronavirus patients who were at a Rhode Island hospital between May 2020 and January 2021 were recruited for Bubbler testing.
Scientists studied samples from three points in the airways. They compared tongue scraping and 15-second breath samples with a pharyngeal swab for a PCR test.

Experts were able to find out that SARS-CoV-2 is easily detectable in exhaled air. At the same time, Bubbler is able to predict lesions of the lower respiratory tract.
The device detects the coronavirus more efficiently than nasopharyngeal swabs, since the lower respiratory tract has a higher viral load compared to the upper part, especially with pneumonia.
