Russian athlete banned for three years for doping

 

Russian athlete Alexei Dorofeev has been banned for three years for violating anti-doping rules.

Dorofeev has violated Clause 4.1 (presence of a Prohibited Substance, its metabolites or markers in a sample taken from an athlete) and Clause 4.2 (use or attempted use by an athlete of a Prohibited Substance or Method) of the Anti-Doping Rules.

Alexei Dorofeev is a 27-year-old athlete from Tula. He won the Russian junior championship in 2016, having run 5,000 meters better than everyone else. In 2020, Valery Anisimov finished fifth in the 10,000 meters as part of the Znamensky Brothers Memorial Championships in Smolensk.
