The United States decided to impose sanctions on the Chinese Academy of Military Medical Research.
The document, posted on the US Department of Commerce’s website, says that this institution and 11 of its research institutes, which work in microbiology, epidemiology, bioengineering, toxicology, disease control and even veterinary medicine, are subject to restrictions “for the use of biotech operations in support of the Chinese military.” The ministry cites data on a “potential brain control weapon”.
As stated in the US Department of State’s statement, “such actions are inconsistent with US national security interests and foreign policy.”
