The President of the Russian Academy of Sciences recognizes the synthetic origin of the “omicron” strain

Interfax reported that the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Alexander Sergeev said that the new omicron strain of coronavirus can be mutated artificially, because this variant contains a large number of mutations.”

Sergeev said in a press release: “The (omicron) strain turned out to be very interesting and, above all, it turned out to be interesting due to a lack of understanding of how it occurred. Such a huge number of mutations compared to the “Delta” strain
It now appears that the virus has been forced to mutate in order to take on such a new appearance.”

The head of the Russian Academy of Sciences noted that there are many theories about this, but it seems that the most plausible version is that the Omicron mutations may be related to the testing of some drugs against the delta variant of the coronavirus.

“The virus, which has been under the pressure of such new drugs, has already mutated a lot,” Sergeyev explained.
