Foods that compensate for vitamin D deficiency in winter

Nutritionist Mikhail Ginzburg said in an interview with Narodny Novosti newspaper that fish oil, cod liver and mackerel will help to fill in the lack of vitamin D in the winter.

According to the expert, vitamin D slows down aging, contributes to the proper functioning of the cardiovascular system and protects the immune system.

Mikhail Ginzburg explained, “Vitamin D is a very multifactorial hormone produced in the body when exposed to sunlight. However, the truth is that people often do not get enough vitamin D, especially in the winter.”

He explained that to make up for the lack of vitamins, you have to eat foods that contain them.

The nutritionist said: “For example, fish oil or cod liver. However, few people use these products. The next group of products is the most popular. This includes oily marine fish such as mackerel. It should be eaten 3-4 times in week. Fish roe is also part of this food group, but few people consume it on a regular basis as well.”
