Russian Defense: NATO is preparing for an armed conflict with Russia

Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin stated that NATO is preparing for a large-scale armed conflict with Russia.

“The military construction of the bloc has been completely refocused on preparations for a large-scale and high-intensity armed conflict with Russia,” he said, briefly to military attaches and representatives of foreign embassies accredited in Moscow.

According to Fomin, in the doctrinal documents of NATO in recent years, in particular, in the 2019 NATO Military Strategy, the Russian Federation “is identified as the main source of threats to the security of the Alliance”.

Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation said: “The Rome Declaration is still valid, in particular, it was decided that Russia and the Alliance do not consider each other an adversary. This fixation was confirmed at the 2010 Russia-NATO Council Summit in Lisbon.
