Russian scientists have invented a new way to purify water

Russian scientists from the NTI Competence Center “Digital Materials Science” at Moscow University have created a unique technology named after Bauman’s water purification phase.

This technology involves the production of sorbents based on graphene oxide – aerogel that are highly hydrophobic and allow water purification of organic pollutants.
According to the researchers, they have found a way to make up for the growing shortage of fresh water.

In the future, scientists want to improve the composition and structure of the aerogel, for example, by adding silver nanoparticles to it to obtain a bactericidal effect.
It is planned that the development will appear on the market around 2025-2026.
