Afghan newspaper Hasht-e subh reported that Taliban militants, fired at the border with Turkmen border guards.
According to the newspaper, the conflict occurred due to a mistake by the Turkmen border guards.
Three days ago, officers of the border guards of Turkmenistan killed one civilian and beat another. In response to their actions during the investigation of the incident, the Taliban fighters fired shots, said Hilal Balkhi, Head of Information and Culture Department in Jowzjan Province.
An exchange of fire took place on Monday, January 3, in the Habab Governorate. It is unknown if anyone died in this shootout.
