Talks about Finland and Sweden joining NATO

US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, according to TASS, has acknowledged the possibility of Finland and Sweden joining NATO.

According to Nuland, Finland and Sweden will be subject to the same assessment procedures as any other country if they wish to join NATO. Noland emphasized that the “conversation” with them would be a little different.

Nuland noted, “Obviously they established stable democracies a long time ago, so this conversation is going to be a little different for countries in transition to a democracy dealing with problems – corruption, economic reforms.
