Russia threatens to move its nuclear missiles ‘close to American shores’

In talks between Russia, the United States and NATO, Russian diplomats allegedly warned that if Washington did not make concessions, Moscow would move nuclear missiles “close to American shores.” The New York Times reported.

The article published in the New York Times confirms that the representatives of Russia did not speak directly. The article does not specify the hints that were made, nor does it mention the countries in which Russian missiles may appear.

The authors found it difficult to assess how seriously the hints of Russian diplomats should be taken. They noted that what is happening is reminiscent of the Caribbean crisis – in 1962, about the deployment of atomic weapons by the Soviet Union in Cuba.
