Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos lose tens of billions in a week

The world’s richest people – Tesla founder Elon Musk, Amazon owner and Jeff Bezos – lost record sums in one week due to a drop in tech stocks.

Musk has lost $25.1 billion over the past seven days, and his fortune is down more than 9%. Bezos lost $20 billion,
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta (formerly Facebook), lost $10.4 billion.

Markets have fallen the most since the pandemic began — last week, as tech stocks took the brunt of shaky earnings and the prospect of higher US interest rates.
