What are the best foods to strengthen joints?

One of the main causes of joint diseases is malnutrition, according to dietitian Svetlana Vos.

As more calcium-containing foods should be included in the diet. Dairy products are the most abundant source of this element.

The nutritionist added that dairy products should not be overused. Vitamins D and C, phosphorous, magnesium and other trace elements may also be suitable for joint health.

The doctor advised to add foods rich in selenium and sulfur to the diet. Selenium is involved in joint nutrition and is found in Brazil nuts, fish (sardines, salmon, herring), garlic, eggs, chicken, turkey, beef liver, mushrooms, cottage cheese, cereals and legumes. All types of meat and fish are saturated with sulfur, as well as dairy products, legumes, eggs and cereals.

Vitamin D contributes to the normal growth of bone tissue and is responsible for the strength of teeth.

Voss says the vitamin is found in foods like cod liver, egg yolks and butter. But it must be remembered that a person still receives the main amount of vitamin D from the sun.”
