The headquarters of the Defense Forces of Estonia reported that from January 29 to February 6, NATO exercises will be held at a winter camp (“winter camp” or “winter”).

Approximately 1,400 soldiers from NATO combat groups from Estonia, the United Kingdom and France will participate in the exercises, as well as armored vehicles, headquarters and engineering forces. It will take place in two stages.

First, the army will conduct live fire, training anti-tank crews, rehearsing for patrolling the area and other tasks.
Then they will fight with an imaginary enemy, the role of which will be played by the scout battalion and parts of the Estonian volunteer detachments (Defense League).

The ministry also conveyed the words of Colonel Andros Merrillo, Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade of the Defense Forces.
“Exercises with the face of an imaginary enemy on rough terrain in winter conditions are a great opportunity to gain invaluable experience. Undoubtedly, fighters and unit commanders will acquire useful skills. They will have to establish interaction between infantry and equipment, as well as find the most effective solutions to offensive and defensive tasks”.
