Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said in an interview with Fox News that Moscow continues to deploy the Russian army and weapons on the Ukrainian border.
He pointed out that the mobilization of forces did not stop “until the end of this week.”
“We at the Pentagon have been very transparent about our concerns about the increase in Russian forces near the border with Ukraine in recent months, as well as about naval activities in the Atlantic and Mediterranean,” Kirby added.
However, the representative of the US Department of Defense did not comment on the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which he urged not to exaggerate the threat of Russian aggression. He explained that Russia’s ultimate intentions are unknown.
