Omicron incognito strain is more contagious

Danish researchers have determined that one of the sub-variants of the Omicron strain of SARS-CoV-2 is more contagious than the previous one.

The study included 18,000 people. Scientists found that a patient with BA.2 had a 39% chance of transmitting the virus to another family member at home within a week.

Medical Express reports that the original Omicron BA.1 strain had a 29 percent risk. Scientists say the sub-substance, called occult omicron, is more likely to infect people who are not immunized.

Researchers are currently studying the transmissibility of the sub-element and the severity of the disease it causes.
BA.2 was scheduled for early 2022. It quickly became dominant in Denmark, replacing the first version of the omicron.
