Greek News Agency reporter killed in Cairo

The Macedonian News Agency (AMNA) correspondent Nikolaos Katsikas was found dead in his apartment.

Katsikas was found dead with multiple stab wounds in his Cairo apartment.

The Egyptian security authorities, investigating the murder of the journalist, announced the arrest of a food delivery courier as a suspect.
A forensic source says he believes theft was the motive for the murder. Apparently, the suspect was working in a restaurant and knew the victim.

The country’s authorities have already authorized the burial of the journalist’s body. According to the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Greek consular authorities are in constant contact with the competent Egyptian authorities.

Katsikas has been a member of the Athens Association of Daily Newspaper Editors and has been a correspondent for AMNA in Cairo since 2016.
