WHO allocates $3.5 million to help Ukraine

The World Health Organization has allocated $3.5 million to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to the population of Ukraine.

According to the message of WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. The organization has allocated funds of $3.5 million from the WHO Emergency Fund to “implement urgent medical supplies”.

Ghebreyesus added that humanitarian support will increase after further needs assessments. He expressed concern for the health of the Ukrainian people “in the face of the escalating crisis.”
The WHO representative concluded that the health system must continue to function.
