Hyundai’s Russian factory shuts down

The Hyundai plant in Saint Petersburg has been suspended from March 1 due to disruptions in the logistics.

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus (HMMR) opened in 2010. Cars are produced according to the full cycle: stamping, welding, painting and assembly. The investments in its construction and development amounted to more than one billion dollars.

In 2021, the company produced 71,000 Solaris and Creta models, which are among the five best-selling cars on the Russian market. Also, the Kia Rio model comes off the assembly line in Saint Petersburg.
