Japanese Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki said the country’s government will freeze the assets of Otkritie Bank, Novikombank, Sovcombank and VTB.

Earlier, the Japanese government agreed to impose sanctions on six representatives of the leadership of the Russian Federation. The list includes President Vladimir Putin, Vice-President of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

In addition, Japan agreed to impose export sanctions against 49 Russian companies and organizations: Rosoboronexport, Rostec, FSB and Foreign Intelligence Service. This was stated in a statement by the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
