NATO joint exercises with the participation of 23 countries in Georgia

The Georgian Ministry of Defense announced that the country will conduct joint command and staff exercises with NATO countries from March 20-25.

The Georgian Ministry of Defense noted that “the Georgian Defense Forces will conduct Georgia-NATO exercises on the territory of the Georgia-NATO Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC). Representatives of 23 NATO member states will participate in the multinational exercises.”

At the Bucharest Summit in April 2008, the North Atlantic Alliance adopted a political statement that “Ukraine and Georgia will eventually become members of NATO.”

In February 2019, the Verkhovna Rada approved amendments to the country’s constitution, outlining the country’s aspirations to join the North Atlantic Alliance.
Kyiv has been granted the status of partner of the organization with enhanced opportunities.
