Turkey refuses to participate in sanctions against Russia

Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Fatih Donmez, said in an interview with CNN Türk, that his country is not ready to impose sanctions on the Russian Federation.

“We don’t want to be a party to sanctions against Russia. We have good trade relations. We mentioned that we are on the side of resolving the issue through diplomacy,” Donmez said.

He added that the sanctions already adopted against the Russian Federation will not affect Turkey. There are no problems with the supply of natural gas to the country.

Earlier, the official representative of the President of Turkey Ibrahim Kalin said that a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky may take place “in the near future”.
