Develop robots that produce water in space

As part of the UK Government’s grant to the aerospace industry, Rolls-Royce will develop a robotic station that will produce water and oxygen in outer space.

The £2 million grant covers a range of innovative projects that the country believes will not only help understand space, but can also improve life on Earth. These projects will be jointly developed by the British Space Agency and commercial enterprises.

“This demonstrates the true value of public-private partnerships as we combine the space expertise of the British Space Agency with our unique experience in the nuclear field,” said Abby Clayton, Director of Future Development at Rolls-Royce.

“Together we can achieve the country’s ambitious technological advancement by developing the energy systems of the future.”
