Russia blacklists Canadian prime minister, foreign and defense ministers

The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Russia imposed personal sanctions on representatives of the Canadian high command and parliamentarians.

According to a statement on the ministry’s website, as of March 15, the list of people banned from entering the Russian Federation includes Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Defense Melanie Jolie and Anita Anand. Most members of the Canadian House of Commons are also barred.

The report provides a complete list of Canadian citizens who have fallen under Russian sanctions, including 313 people.

The Russian Foreign Ministry notes that this step is mandatory and taken in response to hostilities.
