US Treasury imposes sanctions on the State Duma and 328 of its deputies

The US Treasury announced the imposition of sanctions on the State Duma and 328 of its deputies.

“Office of Foreign Assets Control (US Department of the Treasury – OFAC) imposes sanctions on the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and 328 of its members for their complicity in Putin’s war,” the ministry said in a press release. .

Dozens of institutions and companies in the defense sector were also included under the new sanctions. It is reported that the Ministry included in the sanctions list the head of Sberbank German Gref, as well as the Tactical Missile Company and its head Boris Obnosov and other individuals.

Earlier, the United Kingdom imposed sanctions on 59 individuals and companies in Russia. Gazprombank, Russellkhazbank, Alpha Bank, SMB Bank also fell under the restrictions.

The previous expansion of the US sanctions list against Russia took place on March 15, when the restrictions affected the Director General of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, and representatives of the Russian military leadership.
