A mine found in the Black Sea off the Turkish coast

Anadolu Agency reported that the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the discovery of a sea mine off the coast of the Kivkin region (Kogali region) in the Black Sea, and it is trying to eliminate it.

Anadolu quoted a statement issued by the Turkish Defense Ministry, “specialists in the special forces are trying to defuse a naval mine that was found off the coast of the Kifkin district of Kocaeli province in northwestern Turkey.”

Last week, a mine was defused in the Black Sea off the coast of the Turkish settlement of Ignada near the border with Bulgaria. An object similar to a mine was also neutralized in the Bosphorus.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has indicated that the country’s Defense Ministry is taking “precautions” regarding reports of mine drifting in the Black Sea.
