Explosives experts neutralize a mine found off the coast of Turkey

Anadolu Agency, quoting the Turkish Ministry of Defense, reported that sappers have neutralized a naval mine that was found in the Black Sea off the coast of Turkey.

“The explosive device was dismantled with all necessary precautions,” the statement said.

Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the discovery of a sea mine off the coast of Kivkin district (Kogali region) in the Black Sea.

Last week, a mine was defused in the Black Sea off the coast of the Turkish settlement of Ignada near the border with Bulgaria. An object similar to a mine was also neutralized in the Bosphorus.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted that the Turkish Defense Ministry is taking “precautions” regarding reports of mine drifting in the Black Sea.
