Hungary invites Putin and Zelensky for talks in Budapest

European media reported that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, suggested that he hold talks in Budapest with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky.

“The answer was positive, but the Russian president says he has certain conditions,” Orban was quoted as saying by the media.

According to the media, Orban said he also invited French President Emmanuel Marcon and German Chancellor Olaf Schulz to Hungary for talks.

Bloomberg also reported that during the conversation, the Hungarian prime minister spoke in favor of a ceasefire in Ukraine.

Earlier, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that there was no consensus in the European Union on the issue of rejecting Russian gas, as Hungary said it would veto this decision.
