The US Chief of Staff considers the possibility of a major conflict between the great powers increasing

The possibility of a major conflict between the great powers is increasing, the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, said during a budget hearing in the House of Representatives.

“We are entering a world that has become less stable, and the potential for a major international conflict between the great powers is increasing, not decreasing,” he said.

Milley called China and Russia “world powers”, both of which have great military potential and seek to fundamentally change the current world order.

As part of the hearings, Milley will also propose the establishment of permanent military bases in Eastern Europe with rotating personnel.

Earlier, the Chief of Staff of the United States Army, James McConville, spoke about the strategy to confront Russia, noting the inadmissibility of nuclear war.
