Smart watch owners can now use WhatsApp

Developer Adam Foote has released an unofficial WhatsApp messenger client for the Apple Watch, the “wrist” version of the app called WristChat.

WristChat uses a redesigned web version of WhatsApp. The app is built with SwiftUI to provide an interface designed for the Apple Watch.

After the initial setup, the app displays all messages, just like in Apple Messages. Some interface settings are also available to users. For example, the app allows you to turn on or off the display of contacts’ profile pictures in the message list and even change the color of messages.

The app contains all the input methods available on the Apple Watch – voice input, handwriting or using the WristBoard keyboard from the same developer.

WristChat and WristBoard are already available on the App Store – each app is offered for purchase for $3.
