Turkey considers buying Russian Su-57 fighter jets
Turkey is likely to discuss the possibility of purchasing Russian Su-57 aircraft.
According to Milliyet newspaper. Ankara may cooperate with Moscow on the supply of the fighters if the US Congress refuses to sell the F-16 fighters.
According to the newspaper, Ankara has ordered from Washington 40 F-16 Block 70 fighter jets and 80 Block 70 upgrade kits for F-16s already in Turkish service.
In the event that Turkey fails to obtain supplies from the United States, it will begin searching for alternative options, including the Su-57 from the Russian Federation. No further details regarding cooperation between Turkey and Russia have been provided now.
Earlier, Turkey requested to supply it with F-35 combat aircraft and Patriot complexes.
Also last fall, Turkey allowed the purchase of Russian Su-35 and Su-57 fighters.
