Legendary French actor Michel Bouquet dies

French theater and film actor Michel Bouquet has died at the age of 97, and the cause of death has not been established. According to Le Figaro newspaper.

In 1943 Bouquet received his acting training from the National Institute of Dramatic Art, and the following year he played his first major role in the theater.

In 1947, the actor made his film debut – in the movie “Monsieur Vincent”. Since then, he has been actively filming and, in particular, participated in a number of works for the directors of the French New Wave.

Bouquet twice received the Cesar Award in the nomination “Best Actor” (for the films “How I Killed My Father” and “Wanderer on the Champ de Mars”). He also received the European Film Award and was awarded the title of Commander of the Legion of Honor.
