Actor Johnny Depp has announced that he will not be starring in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series.
Depp said, in court in the lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, that her accusations of domestic violence, which he disagrees with, destroyed his film career. In particular, he lost his contract in connection with the sixth part of Pirates of the Caribbean.
At the same time, according to Depp, he will not star in the new Pirates of the Caribbean, even if Disney offers him $ 300 million.
The first part of the film was released in 2003, was a huge success and marked the beginning of the multi-million dollar franchise. Jack Sparrow’s character as Depp later appeared in other films in the series.
The last part was released in 2017 – the fifth part. The fate of the continuation of the project is still ambiguous. The situation is complicated, in particular, by the litigation between the ex-spouses Depp and Heard, against which the actor was expelled from a number of projects.
