Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport evacuated after unexploded bomb was found

An American family caused panic at an airport in Israel by trying to smuggle an unexploded bomb. Tourists planned to pick up the projectile as a souvenir.

According to media reports, the accident occurred at Ben Gurion Airport. As explained by American tourists, they found the bomb while visiting the Golan Heights, where the battles took place during the Six-Day War of 1967. Port security officers noticed the projectile while examining the family.

Airport employees announced an emergency evacuation – panic began. One passenger was reportedly taken to hospital with injuries sustained while trying to escape through the baggage claim belt.

Later, it was known that the family was allowed to board the plane after police questioning.
