North Korea begins preparing for large-scale nuclear tests

North Korea is planning its first nuclear test since 2017.

Satellite images taken over the DPRK nuclear test site in Fungiire indicate extensive preparations for the test. New buildings and equipment, as well as the movement of building materials on them, can be seen.

According to the Financial Times, preparations are “in full swing”, and the tests themselves could take place between May and September this year.

Earlier it was reported that the North Korean army fired an unidentified projectile into the Sea of ​​Japan.

This launch was the ninth in a row in 2022.

At the end of February, the South Korean armed forces reported that the DPRK had fired another unidentified projectile. The missile was sent toward the Sea of ​​Japan.

Later, the North Korean authorities explained that the country’s army had conducted an important test of creating a reconnaissance satellite.
