Qatar is not ready to accept members of the LGBT community during the World Cup

Some hotels in Qatar are not ready to accept members of the LGBT community during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The official FIFA website has a list of 69 hotels recommended in Qatar for check-in during the 2022 World Cup.

SVT Sport representatives wrote to each of them, identifying themselves as a gay couple from Sweden who wanted to check in at a hotel.

Only 56 hotels responded to this request, and the remaining 13 hotels left the message unanswered.

Of the 56 respondents, three hotels refused check-in services for gay people. At 20 other hotels, they said they were willing to accommodate an LGBT couple on the condition that guests conceal their orientation.

The World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18.
