Large-scale exercises with NATO participation begin in Estonia

Large-scale exercises SEAL 2022 (“Hedgehog” 2022), with the participation of approximately 15,000 Estonian military personnel, as well as allies from NATO countries and coalition partners, will begin in Estonia.

The “EZE” exercise will be held from May 16 to June 3. The headquarters of the Estonian Defense Forces said in a statement that about 15,000 Estonian soldiers, as well as specialists from 10 NATO allies and NATO partners, will participate.

They noted that the main purpose of the exercises is to test combat readiness and assess international cooperation in response to various threats.

The publication indicates that the main exercises will take place in the southeast of the country and in the central training ground of the defense forces. It includes the 1st and 2nd Infantry Brigades, cyber command units, special operations commands, logistics, paramilitary defense militia members, as well as the Air Force, Navy, Allied units and coalition partners.
