US will borrow $40 billion from China to help Ukraine

US Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky said the United States will have to borrow money from China in order to funnel a record $40 billion aid package to Ukraine.

According to Breitbart reports, the senator stressed that the US budget does not contain the funds needed to meet the commitments made to Kiev.
“I think it’s important to know that we don’t have money to send, and we have to borrow from China to send money to Ukraine,” Paul said.

According to him, borrowing money to provide military assistance to another country is not justified. The senator believes that many will approve this loan, including Republicans, if the money goes to fund a new social program. But in the case when it comes to military assistance to another country, this is unlikely to be justified borrowing, says the politician.

Earlier it became known that US President Joe Biden will sign a bill on the allocation of additional assistance to Ukraine in the amount of about 40 billion dollars during a trip to Asia.

Prior to this, Paul alone in Congress prevented the adoption of a bill on the allocation of aid to Ukraine in the amount of almost 40 billion dollars.
