Monkeypox virus is a dangerous disease for which there is no cure, and according to scientists, about 1% of cases of diseases can be fatal, but the virus is spreading slowly until now, so it will be much easier to control than the Corona virus.
According to the Centers for Virology and Biotechnology, contact with animals that may carry the virus, especially rodents and sick or dead animals, should be avoided.
This is most important in a number of countries in Africa where monkeypox is endemic, especially in West and Central Africa, where tropical rainforests predominate.
Scientists also advised to eat cooked animal products with care and caution, as primary infection occurs through direct contact with blood, body fluids, or lesions of the skin and mucous membranes of infected animals and people.
Cases of monkeypox infection have been reported in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Italy, the United States of America and Germany.
The World Health Organization held an emergency meeting at the level of relevant experts to discuss the speed of the disease’s spread.
