Biden supports Japan’s permanent membership in the UN Security Council

US President Joe Biden has endorsed Japan’s status as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council if it is reformed.

It is noteworthy that this idea was put forward by the American leader during the talks held in Tokyo on May 23 with the Japanese Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida.

On May 22, Biden arrived in Japan where he visited the Imperial Palace. There he held a meeting with Emperor Naruhito.

The President of the United States also plans to meet the relatives of the Japanese kidnapped by the DPRK’s special services.

The US president will remain in Japan until May 24, when a summit of leaders of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, which includes Japan, the United States, India and Australia, is held.
