The danger of tickling for children

Neurologist Natalia Stepanenko said that the child does not receive positive emotions from tickling, laughter is only a reflexive reaction.

Tickling constricts the blood vessels responsible for delivering oxygen to the brain, the heartbeat becomes more frequent, the child dilates, and the nervous system becomes excited.

Pediatricians also do not recommend tickling children under the age of one year. Children, especially infants, are sensitive to physical contact. And the specialist warned that the tickling will be small, but it will still be stressful for the nervous system.

She also indicated that the sympathetic department of the central nervous system is responsible for the coordinated work of the internal organs and the adaptation of the body to external environmental conditions, and laughter during tickling is nothing but a reflexive reaction that has nothing to do with emotions.
