Cannes Film Festival awards the Palme d’Or to a Ukrainian dog

In Cannes, the Cannes Film Festival presents a Palm Dog award for a Ukrainian dog named Patron, who, with rescuers, searches for mines.

The Ukrainian emergency service, on its channel, on Telegram, published a message that said: “Today in Cannes, Patron was awarded the Palm Dog – the world’s most famous film award, which is awarded to four legs!

And since Patron has truly become an international news movie star over the past two months, the jury unanimously decided that our pyrotechnician deserved the “Palm”.

The service also added that the dog was unable to attend the award ceremony and viewed the award from a distance.

Earlier, before a joint press conference between Zelensky and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented a medal to Patron. The dog received the award “in recognition of bravery”.
