French authorities limit water use due to drought

Cairo / Hani Kamal El-Din –
Because of the heat and drought, in France, 24 administrations announced special rules for the use of fresh water.

These divisions are located mainly in the west and south of the country. According to Le Figaro reports, there is a ban on filling swimming pools with water, washing cars and, in some cases, irrigating gardens.

The authorities are taking measures to control water resources, in particular, they will allocate 400 million euros to help farmers and livestock breeders.

Earlier, German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Svenja Schulz said that due to rising food prices as a result of the impact of the Corona virus, drought and the situation in Ukraine, the world is facing the worst famine since World War II and “millions of victims”.

The minister said food prices worldwide have risen by a third and are now at a record level.

According to the World Food Program, 300 million people suffer from hunger in the world, however, according to forecasts, these numbers will increase, Schulze emphasized.
