Poland’s inflation rate exceeds 13% for the first time since 1998

Poland’s inflation rate in May was 13.9%, a record high for the past 24 years.

According to the website of the Main Statistical Office of the Republic (GUS). In April, the inflation rate in Poland was 12.3%, which also became a record.

In May, the consumer price index rose to 113.9% compared to the same period last year, the highest level in 24 years.

Statistics indicated that fuel prices rose more than others. In May, prices increased by 35.4% compared to the same period last year. Compared to April 2022, prices have increased by 5%.

Energy carrier prices have also risen dangerously high. Compared to 2021, prices jumped 31.4% in May. Over the month, it grew 3.4%.
