Residents of the Netherlands will have to skip meals in order to cope with the country’s economic crisis.
“The rise in food prices of the magnitude we are seeing and the increase in energy prices will essentially mean that many families will be eating from one to two times a day,” Queen Maxima, Queen of the Netherlands, told CNBC during the World Economic Forum in Davos.
According to her, this situation can lead to further instability, which is a serious cause for concern.
On May 28, the Deputy Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), former Italian Minister of Agriculture Maurizio Martina, said the number of hungry and malnourished people on the planet could reach 220 million.
