Diseases that cause constant hunger

A constant feeling of hunger often indicates a serious illness.

The cause of the constant desire to eat can be thyroid problems, with hyperthyroidism, the body produces a lot of hormones, which leads to a person feeling very hungry.

If you want to eat constantly, you should consult an endocrinologist. Also, increased appetite may indicate diabetes.

In diabetes, blood glucose levels remain abnormally high (hyperglycemia). Therefore, glucose from the blood cannot enter the cells – due to a lack of insulin or due to insulin resistance – and, accordingly, the body cannot convert food into energy. Doctors warn that a lack of energy causes a feeling of hunger.

Eating too much leads to increased acidity of the stomach and thus chronic gastritis. Uncontrolled hunger spells may also indicate bulimia.

This eating disorder occurs when the brain does not receive signals of satiety, so the person cannot stop eating.

It was reported earlier that the causes of fatigue and weakness were identified.
