Bayern Munich confirm Lewandowski’s move to Barcelona

Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has confirmed the agreement in principle with Barcelona to transfer German striker Robert Lewandowski to the Spanish club.

“We have reached an agreement with Barcelona. So far, only verbally, the documents have not yet been signed.

My job is to always achieve the best for Bayern Munich. We thought it was best to let Robert go.

Barcelona offered an amount that would make a Lewandowski sale completely reasonable for us. In addition, we have had great success in the transfer market recently and have signed the world player Sadio Mane.

On 30 May, Lewandowski announced his decision to leave Bayern during the summer transfer window. He was already late to coach his club three times before the start of the season.

In the last season of the Bundesliga, Lewandowski scored 35 goals and became the tournament’s top scorer.

The contract agreement between the Polish striker and Bayern Munich runs until the summer of 2023.
