Japan is developing a robotic snake

Specialists from Kyoto University have created a robot in the form of a snake. According to WION, it can climb stairs and make its way through drainpipes.

It is reported that the robot was developed in partnership with mechanics from France.

Scientists indicate that the development will be used in the event of natural disasters – the robot will be able to reach places that are difficult for humans to reach, as well as in other places where a prolonged human presence can be dangerous. For example, in nuclear power plants.

“Robots are an essential part of the low-carbon fusion project, and we need to learn how to remotely control such machines,” said engineer Tristan Trimetek. And “this is because it will be used to service fusion power plants”.
